His Excellency layd before the Board the Copy of the C. P. Clause for the Two shill and Nine pence p hhd Sent in from his Ldsp and his Guardian. Which was read to them for their Considration He also Signifies his Lordships Pleasure of accepting Six pence Sterl p hhd more in full satisfaction of all his Rents. And asks their opinion how the Trade may be Affected by the Impost of the last Six pence. All the Gentlemen prsent are unanimously of opinion that Such an Additionall Duty being so inconsidrable not Exceeding one penny p Cent, The Trade cannot be much Affected therewith especially Con sidering that the Greatest part of the Tobo is Exported by the Inhabitants on their proper Accounts. This day according to his Lordship's Writt of Election or Summons being Appointed for the meeting of the Generall Assembly; Pursuant thereto Appeared at the Board these following Delegates by Indenture returned for St Mary's, Ann Arundel, Baltemore, Prince George's and Queen Ann's Countys, Viz. Mr Thomas Trueman Greenfeild, Mr James Stoddart, Mr Peter Bond, Col James Maxwell, Mr William Turbut, Mr Joseph Hill, & Major John Hawkins. To whome the Honble Thomas Brooke Esqr Col Thomas Addison and Lt Col Tilghman, by Virtue of his Lordsp's Writt of Dedimus Potestantem administred the Oaths appointed instead of the Oaths of Allegiance & Supremecy & the Oath of Abjuration which they Subscribed, as likewise the Declaration commonly called the Test. And then was read and Published his Lordship's Writt of Prorogation before the Members of the Upper and Lower Houses now Present in the Tenour following Viz. Charles Absolute Lord and Proprietarie of the Provinces of Maryland and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore. To the
