326 Proceedings of the Council of Maryland, 1715/16.
Lib. W. B. sion to Him for the Governmt thereof, His Excellency being particularly named in his Majesty's sd Royal Instructions as p. 67 his Lordship's Deputy Govnr over this Province. Then his Excellency desired the Board to Advise Him after what manner it might be fitting to publish his Lordship's Commission to Him for the Administration of the Governrnt To which the Council say they are of Opinion that the said Commission shou'd be published to Morrow before Noon in the Publick Court House of this City His Excellency being there Present with the Members of this Board, the violent hard weather and deep Snow now on the Ground having prevented the Meeting of a full Council till late this Evening. And further Advised that Proclamation Issue to Dissolve the Present Genll Assembly which being prepared and approved in the following Tenr was immediately Issued Viz.
Maryland sst By His Excellcy the Capt Genrll &c. A Proclamation Whereas the Genrl Assembly of this Province now stands Prorogued unto the twentieth day of February next Ensuing. But forasmuch as the sd Assembly being called by His Maj- estys Writts of Election it wou'd not be Proper that they p. 68 should Enact Laws in his Lordship's Name by Virtue of the sd Election I have thought fit by and with the Advice of his Lordship's honble Council with in this Province to Issue this my Proclamation declaring the Assembly to be dissolved. Of which all Persons are to take due Notice and Conforme themselves accordingly thereto; And to the End that all Per sons may have due Notice thereof I do hereby Command the sevrll Sherriffs of the respective Countys within this Province to Publish this my Proclamation in the most Publick and fre quented Places of their sevrll Countys whereof they are not to faile at their Perills. Given at the City of Annapolis under his Lordship's Great Seale this 27th day of December in the first Year of the Dominion Rt Honble Charles Lord Baron of Baltemore Absolute Lord & Proprietarie of the Provinces of Maryland & Avalon &c.
