     Proceedings of the Council of Maryland, 1715. 313

    

     spondence with the Southern Indians Advised that His Exncy Lib. W. B.

     and any three of the Council will issue an Order agt selling

     any Powder or Lead to Indians.

      The Smiths Accot for worke done to the Powder House

     being Stated and Settled Ordered that His Matys Receiver

     of the District of Puttuxent pay him out of the Revenue of

     three pence p hhd for Arms in his hands the Sume of two

     pounds One shill and Eight pence.

      His Exncy proposes to the Council that Whereas some 48

     Considration was had the last Assembly concerning the build

     ing of an House for Arms &c Which might also be Service

     able on other Occasions as particularly for a Council Chamber,

     and to receive the Country as well as strangers on occasions

     so requiring & Especially in Assembly tyme, whether It may

     not be advisable to build such an House out of the 3d p

     hhd for Arms &c & pay a Ground Rent of tenn shill p Ann

     for the Land, or otherwise to consider of what Rent they

     think may be reasonable to be given to Encourage the

     Owners of the Land to build an House Suitable for those

     occasions, Which he desires they will at their Leisure con

     sider of

    

    

       At the Council held the 13th Day of July 1715

     prsent as Yesterday, with the Addition of the honble John

              Hall Esqr & Lt Col Rd Tilghman.

      Ordered that John Rousby Esqr his Matys Receiver of the

     District of Puttuxent forthwth pay to the Honble Col Nathaniel

     Blakiston Agent for the Province or his Ordr what money he

     has in his hands of the Revenue of the One fourth part of

     the moyety of two shill p hhd appropriated to purchase Arms

     &c. in Ordr to his purchasing Such Arms & Affiunition as his

     Exncy the Govr shall direct him

     of Annapolis August 24th 1715 and in the second year of

     the Reigne of Our Sovereigne Lord George King of Great

     Britain &c:
