300 Proceedings of the Council of Maryland, 1715.

We for the Preventing the Inconveniencies tht may happen thereby in our Princely Wisdom and Care of the State reserv ing to Our Judgement hereafter the Reformation and redress of any Abuses in Misgovernment upon due Knowledge and Examination thereof are Pleased and do hereby Order Sig nifye and Declare That all Persons tht at the Time of the Decease of her sd late Majesty were duly and lawfully Pos sessed of or Invested in any Office Place or Employment Civil or Military in any of our Plantations, and which have not been since removed from such their Offices Places or Employmcnt3 shall be and shall hold themselves continued in the sd Offices Places or Employments as formerly they held and enjoyed the same untill our Pleasure be further knowne or tht other pvision be made pursuant to her late Matys Comissions and Instructions to her Govnrs and Officers of the Plantations afsd And tht in the mean Time for the preservation of the Peace and necessary Proceedings in Matters of Justice and for the Safety and Service of the State all the sd Persons of whatsoever Degree or Condition do not faile every one Severally according to his Place Office or Charge to pceed in the performance and Execution of all Duties thereunto be longing as formerly appertained unto them while the late Queen was living. And further we do hereby will and Com mand all and Singular Our Subjects in the sd Plantations of what Estate or Degree they or any of them be to be Aiding helping and Assisting at the Commandmt of the sd Officers p. 31 in the Performance & Execution of the sd Offices and Places As they tender Our Displeasure & will Answer the Contrary at their Utmost Perills. Given at Our Court at St James's the two & twentieth day of Novbr 1714 in the first Year of Our Reigne. God Save the King.
Which being read Advised and resolved that the same be forthwith published in all Parts of this his Matys Province. His Excellency was also Pleased to Communicate to the Board a Duplicate of a Letter from the Rt Honble the Lords of Trade and Plantations Dated the 11th of August 1714 Requiring him forthwith to Proclayme his Majesty our most Gracious Sovereigne King George King of Great Britain &c. without loss of Tyme & give Acct to them thereof, Which having been aliready done in all Parts of this Province and the Acct thereof sent to Great Britain to their Lordships is thought to be a full Complyance with their Lordships Letter Also in the sd Letter the following Clause was observed remarquing to his Excellency that by the Act made in the
