Lib. W. B. off & suffer the Exportation thereof. And advised the sd Embargoe be taken off, & that his Excellency issue his Proclamation notyfying the some. p. 26 By His Excellcy the Capt Genrll A Proclamation
Whereas in October last the Winters seeming to set in very severely It was thought fit that the Exportation of Indian Corne out of this Province shou'd be Prohibited untill the tenth of March next which was accordingly done by Proclama- tion to that Purpose Issued But for that the winter has since proved very favourable & mild & is pretty farr advanced, And that there seems not to be any absolute Necessity to continue the sd Prohibition l'o the End his Matys good Sub jects of this Province may take the best Advantage of the Marketts I have by the Advice of his Matys Honble Council thought fit to take off the Embargo as afsd lay'd on Indian Corne And do by this my Proclamation direct Comand & require the respective Officers of his Majesties Customs with this Province to take Notice thereof & to Clear all Sloops & Vessells loaden wth Indian Corne as if the sd Prohibition had never been Enjoyned or Embargo lay'd And to the end all Persons may have due Notice hereof I do hereby Comand the respective Sherriffs to Publish this my Proclamation in the most usual & frequented places in their severall Countys. Given at the City of Annapolis this 18th day of Janry in the first year of the Reigne of Our Sovereigne Lord George by the Grace of God of Great Britain France & Ireland King Defdr of the Faith &c.
It being observed that whereas the Fee of 480 l of tobacco to the Keeper of the Greate Seale for sealing a Body of Laws for a County Court has been an Ancient Fee but not being particularly mentioned in the Act for Limitation of Officers Fees some of the County Courts taking advantage thereof have refused to make allowance thereof to the prsent Keeper of the Great Scale Resolved & It is therefore hereby Ordered that the Fee for the Scale p. 27 to the Body of Laws to each County was, be & is hereby Ascertained & Settled at four hundred & eighty pounds of Tobacco And that the keeper of the Great Scale be & is hereby allowed to take the same, And the Justices of the County Courts directed to make allowance thereof. The Honbl Samuel Young Esqr & Capt Jno Dorsey Mem bers of this Board being very lame & Indisposed having wrote to desire to be excused.
