290 Proceedings of the Council of Maryland, 1714.
Lib. W. B. W John Rousby Receiver of the District of Puttuxent came & made Oath to his Account of Receipt of the Revenue p. 21 of the 3d per Hogshead for Arms & of the three fourths of the one Moyety of the two shillings p Hogshead on Tobacco Exported. It was put to the Question whether it may not be advisable that an Order of this Board be sent to the Justices of the several County Courts to transmit his Excellcy Yearly an Account of all Fines & Forfeitures falling in their respective Courts, And advised such order Issue put to the Question if the prsent Assembly ought to be disolved And resolved Nemine contradicente that they be disolved & tht a Proclama tion issue notifying the same Put to the Question if another Assembly shall not in some short tyme be called to sit, & resolved in the Affirmative. The two following Proclamations being read at the Board were approved of & Issued, Viz.
By His Excellency the Capt Genrll &c A Proclamation Maryland SSt Whereas it hath pleased God of his infinite Mercie & Goodness upon his being pleased to take to Himself Our late Gracious Sovereigne Lady Queen Anne of Glorious Memorie to Bless the Inhabitants of the Realme of Great Britain & of all other the Dominions dependent thereon And especially of this Province wth the great & Invaluable happi ness of prserving and securing to us our most holy Religion by us pfest according to the pure Discipline of the Church of England together wth all our Rights & Liberties by peace- p. 22 ably & happily bringing to & placing on the Throne of his Ancestors Our most Dread Sovereigne Lord George by the Grace of God of Great Britain France & Ireland, King De fender of the Faith &c. Of wch extraordinary great mercie & Blessing all his Matys good Subjects must have a most hum ble & grateful sence And being therewth highly Affected are incited to returne their most solemn & hearty thanks & praises to the Divine Excellence for the same I have therefore by & with the Advice of his Matys Honbl Council within this Province thought fit to And do by this my Proclamation Direct Appoint & Comand that Thursday the twenty-fifth day of November next ensuing be by all his Majestys good Subjects within this Province set apart for a Day of Publick & Genrll Thanksgiving & rejoycing for his most sacred Majestys most happy & Peaceable Accession to the Crowne of Great Britain France & Ireland And to the end all Per-
