the following particulars may be added. Upon the Queens Lib. W. B. being seized wth a strong Convulsion It was on Fryday Morn ing The Lords of the Cabinet Council met at Kensington where the Duke of Shrewsbury was by her Maty Immediately made Treasurer And a Genrll Council being summoned. Orders were sent to the Lord Mayor to take care to keep the Peace of the City. The Lords Leiutents of the severall Countrys were directed to draw out the Militia to take from Papists & other suspected Persons their Arms & Horses & to be watchfull of the Publick Tranquillity, the Military Offices were commanded to their several Posts. Brigadier Sutton was sent to Flanders to bring from thence Seaven Battallions of her Matys Troops. The Fleet was directed to be fitted out & all other necessary precautions were taken. A Letter signed by the Lords of the Council was on Sat urday Morning sent Express to his Electorall Highness of Brunswick to acquaint Him wth what had been done to Desire the favour of his immediate Prsence here & to lett him know that a Squadron of Men of Warr would very soon attend his Orders on the Coast of Holland. Yesterday the Lords Jus tices dispatch'd the Earle of Dorset to go & wayt upon his Majestie with an Account of all that had since passed. The p. 20 two Houses of Parliament met on Sunday in the Afternoon according to the Act. They have been since employed in taking the Oaths. And the Speaker of the House of Com- mons who was out of Town being now returned, tis expected the Parliamt will enter on Buisiness to morrow. And likewise the Proclamation of the Lords Spiritual & Temporall of Great Britain being assisted Wth those of Her late Majesties Council & other Principal Gentlemen of Qual- ity & the Lord Mayor Aldermen & Citizens of London of the first of August Proclayming the High & Mighty Prince George Elector of Brunswick Lunenburgh King of Great Britain France & Ireland Defendr of the Faith &c And the Gazzette of the 31st of July to Tuesday August 3d And also the Lords Justices Speech to the Parliamt on the 5th of Au gust, On Mature Consideration whereof the Board are of Opinion that his Excellency has aliready caused everything requisite & enjoyned by the Lords Justices Directions sig nifyed by his Majestys Secretarie of State to be done & performed in this Province, Save tht it may be advisable his Excellency shou'd Issue Proclamation Notyfying the altera tion in the Liturgie And a Proclamation for appointing a generall day of Thanksgiving for his Majesties happy Acces sion to the Throne of Great Britain which he is desired to Issue 19
