ted by Act of the 5th & 6th of Queen Anne & requiring them to take the Oaths by that Act prscribed which being prpared was read & approved of & this as follows Viz.
By His Excellency the Capt Genrll A Proclamation
Whereas by an Act of Parliamt made in the Sixth year of the Reigne of her late Maty Queen Anne Intituled an Act for the Security of Her Matys Person & Governmt & of the Succession of the Crowne of Great Britain in the Protestant Lyne It was Enacted that no Office Place or Imploymt Civil or Military within the Kingdoms of Great Britain or Ireland Dominion of Wales Towne of Berwick upon Tweed Isles of Jersey Guernsey Alderney & Sarke or any of Her Maty Plan tations shoud become Void by reason of the Demise of her sd late Maty Her Heirs or Successors Kings or Queens of Great Britain But that every Person & Persons in any of the Offices Places & Employments aforesd should continue in their respective Offices Places Employments for the space of six months next after such Death or Demise unless sooner re moved & discharged by the next Successor to whom the Imperial Crowne of Great Britain was limited & Appointed p. 15 to go & remain & descend And that all Officers in any Offices Places or Employmt who should be by that Act continued shou'd take tht Oaths therein mentioned & do all other Acts requisite by the Laws of Great Britain to Quallifye themselves to be & Continue in such their respective Places Offices & Imploymts within such Tyme & in such manner & under such Pains Penalties & Disabilitys as they shou'd or ought to do had they been newly Elected appointed Constituted & put in to such Offices Places or Imployments in the Usual & ordin ary way I do therefore by & Wth the Advice of His Matys Honble Council within this Province Issue this my Proclama tion hereby directing & requiring all Persons who at the Tyme of the Decease of her sd late Majesty to witt the first day of August last were duly & lawfully Possess'd of or Invested in any Place or Imploymt Civil or Military within this Province with the first opportunity to take the respective Oaths of Office and all other Oaths as required by the sd Act And in the meantyme that they do not faile every one severally according to his Place Office or Charge, to pceed in the per formance & Execution of all Duties belonging to their respect. ive Offices And I do further in his Matys name hereby re
