      Proceedings of the Council of Maryland, 1714. 285

    

     Guns of Garrison made a Triple Discharge WCh were followed       Lib. W. B.

     by his Majesties Ships & the other Ships in the Rhoad.

       And thereupon askt the Opinion of the Board whether it is

     not very fitting his most Sacred Maty King George should be

     Proclaymed without Expecting farther Directions.

       Upon which it was put to the Vote whether the King shou'd

     not be Proclaymed to Morrow Notwithstanding his Excellency

     has not any judicial Notice of Her Matys Demise.

       And Resolved nemine Contradicente that the most High

     & Mighty Prince George Elector of Brunswick Lunenburgh

     be to Morrow by twelve of the Clock Proclaymed in this City

     King of Great Britain France & Ireland Defendr of the Faith

     &c.

       And further Advised that His Excellency will Issue his Pro

     clamation to the severall Counties Commanding the Respec

     tive Sherriffes forthwith to Proclayme his sd Majestie with all

     the Solemnity possible.

       And the following Proclamation being read & approved

     was ordered to Issue Viz.

               By His Excellency the Capt Genl                         p. 13

                       A Proclamation.

       Whereas It hath pleased Almighty God to call to his Mer-

     cie Our late Sovereigne Lady Queen Anne of blessed Memorie

     by whose Demise the Imperial Crowns of Great Britain France

     & Ireland are Solely & rightfully come to the High & Mighty

     Prince George Elector of Brunswick Lunenburgh I do there

     fore by & with the Advice of his Majesties Honble Council

     within this Province Publish this my Proclamation Notifying

     the same to all His Matys good Subjects and Straitly

     Charging & requiring the severall Sherriffes of the respective

     Counties of this Province their next full County Courts with

     all the Solemnity Possible to Proclayme & Publish that the sd

     High & mighty Prince George Elector of Brunswick Lunen

     burgh is by the Death of Our late Sovereigne of happy

     Memory become our onely lawful & Rightful Leige Lord

     George by the Grace of God of Great Britain France & Ire-

     land King Defendr of the Faith & to whom we do Acknowl-

     edge all Faith & Constant Obedience with all Hearty &

     healthful Affection with one full Voice & Consent of Tongue

     & Heartily declaring the same & beseeching God by whom

     Kings & Queens do Reigne to bless the Royal King George

     Wth long & happy years to Reigne Over us.

       Given at the City of Annapolis the 27th day of October in

     the first year of His Matys Reigne &c. Annoqr Dni 1714.
