284 Proceedings of the Council of Maryland, 1714.
Lib. W. B. intended and is absolutely necessary for carrying on the Service of the Year. Resolved Ne mine Contradicente, that an humble Address be presented to his Majestie to returne the humble thanks of this House for the Satisfaction his Majesty has been pleased to Express in the Loyalty and Affection which his Subjects have universally shewne upon his Majestys Acces sion to the Throne and for his Gracious Intentions of making his People speedily happy with his Royal prsence and also to assure his Majestie of the Continuance of the same Zeale and Affection to his Majestie upon all Occasions, and that this House will contribute their utmost Endeavours for p. 11 prserving the Publick Peace untill his Matty shall arrive. Ordered that the sd Address be prseflted to the Lords Justices with the Decree of this House that They will trans mitt the same to his Majestie wth all Convenient speed Ordered that the sd Address be prseflted to the Lords Justices by such Members of this House as are of his Majes ties most Honble Privy Council. Resolved that this House will to Morrow Morning resolve it selfe into a Committee of the whole House to consider of that part of the Speech of the Lords Justices Wth relate to the Lottery. Ordered that the Lords Justices Speech be referred to the sd Committee. And then the House Adjourn'd till to morrow morning nine of the Clock.
And part of a Letter from the Postmaster of New York to the Post Master of Philadelphia New York October 18th 1714 Mr Flower On the 11th Instant the Obsequies of Our late Sovereigne Lady Queen Anne of Blessed Memory were performed here wth great Decency & Order About eleven in the Morning, & about one of the Clock the same day The High & Mighty Prince George Elector of Brunswick Lunenburgh was Pro claymed here King of Great Britain France & Ireland &c first at his Matys Fort & afterwards at the City shall whether his Excellency Our Governr was Attended by the Garrison under Arms & all Our Militia both Horse & Foot his Majesties Council the Corporation and all the Principal Gentn & Inhabit p. 12 ants of the Place with Musick Playing before them and a double Guard being made by the Militia from the Fort to the City Hall The Regular Forces & all the Militia fired severall Vollys with Huzza's & loud Acclamations of Ioy & all the
