Proceedings of the several Courts of Chancery provincial & Lib. X. County Courts within this Province & that the Commissary p. 237 General & Clerk of the Council do the like in respect of their Offices and that particular Orders be served on the said Officers Then read the right Honble the Earl of Nottingham her Majestys Principal Secretary of States Letter of the 20th of March last directing this Government to prohibit Trade & Correspondence with the French Settlements in America To which this Board do say that they have no Reason to believe any such trade or correspondence practicable by any Inhabit ants or Traders in this Province against which Proclamation has already been issued & all possible care will be used to prevent it Read his said Lordships her Majestys Secry of States Letter prohibiting any arms to be sold or supplied to the French or Spaniards now in war with her Majesty To which this Board do say they are sensible that they can have no such supply from this Province Read a Letter from the honble the Commissioners of her Majestys Customs desiring due care to be taken that no Bulkt Tobacco be shipped out of this Province unless in Chest & Cask pursuant to the Act of Parliament made there fore Ordered that the several Officers of her Majestys Customs be admonished to use their utmost circumspection that no such Tobacco's be shipped in this Province Then was produced and read his Excellency Nath Blakiston Esqr her Majestys Governors Letter to the Presidt & Council hereof Dated the 10th of February 1702 And as to that part thereof relating to Mr Joseph Holt Rector of Wm & Mary Parish in St Marys County his ill Be- p. 337 haviour to the Great Scandal of his Function Ordered that the said Mr Holt be suspended ab Officio et a Beneficio until his Excellency Colo John Seymours arrival & that he make Application to his said Excellency to be restored if he shall think fit This Board taking especial notice of the great Character Governor Blakiston gives of the honble Colo John Seymour whom her Majesty has been pleased to appoint to be Gover nor of this Province very much rejoyce in the Great Expecta tion this Province may have under the Government of so worthy & noble a Gentleman That part of Colo Blakistons Letter desiring the General Assembly should meet between the Twenty fifth & twenty Eight of October next being taken into consideration Resol- ved that time will be very convenient for assessing and De
