                 158 Proceedings of the Council of Maryland, 1703.

            

        Lib. X.  pernor for another person was supposed to enter into to his

                 late Majesty in 2000 l tobacco & it appearing to the Board by

                 the Declaration of several of the Justices on the Bench then

                 in Baltimore County Court that the said Kemball did not

                 Solemnly enter into the said Recognizance but only said he

                 would be one in Case another Person were joyned with him

                 but never Consented, the other refusing however by the

                 negligency in not solemnly taking the said Recognizance by

                 Mr Henry Wriothesly the Clark of that Court as he himself

                 Acknowledged to the Board the same became matter of

        p. 329   Record against which no Avermt Ordered that the said

                 Recognizance be not estreated but remitted to the said John

                 Kimball

                   Read the petition of Mr Thomas Collier late riding Survr

                 at Willm Stadt appointed by his late Excellency Colo Nichol

                 son Setting forth that the said Governor Nicholson had

                 Ordered George Plater Esqr her Majestys Receiver of Puttux

                 ent district to pay him thirty pounds for his Sallary in Offi

                 ciating that Employment Mr Plater being Demanded why he

                 had not complied with that Order says he has not had of her

                 Majestys in his hands to satisfy his own Sallary for which the

                 Revenue is in Arrears

            

            

            

             At a Council held at Annapolis the 15th day of June 1703

            

                                 Present

                   The honble Tho Tench Esqr President

            

                              Colo John Hammond

                 the honble   Lieut Colo Wm Holland

                              Mr James Sanders

            

                   Produced & read the Lord Cornburys Letter of the 25th of

                 May 1703 as followeth

            

            

                          New York May 25th 1703

                 Gentlemen

                   Both your Letters are come safe to my hands by which you

                 are pleased to inform me that the Assembly of Maryland have

                 voted £300 of their Quota ordered by his Late Majestys

                 Letter for the Assistance of this Government & you likewise

                 say that sum shall be ready when I send for it I therefore take

                 the Opportunity of his Excellency Colo Nicholsons return to

                 his Government of Virginia who has Given me Leave to

                 trouble him with this Letter to intreat the favour of you that
