    Proceedings of the Council of Maryland, 1703. 151

   

    being Considered and he being Offered Sixty Doe Skins Lib. X.

    says if they be good ones he will be Satisfied

      Ordered therefore that W Peter Taylor or Mr Tho Taylor

    pay the said Sixty drest Doe Skins to the said Panquass

    before Colo Thomas Ennals who it is to be judge of the worth

    of the said Goods & is hereby Ordered to punish the Negro

    by whipping otherwise in case of Refusal he is to Commit

    the Negroe to Goal to be prosecuted in the Prove Court for

    that Offence

   

   

   

      At a Council held at the Town & Port of Annapolis May

    6th 1703

    the honble Cole Jno Hammond &

             Colo Edwd Lloyd     James Sanders Esqr

      The Reverend Mr Nobbs offering to the Board that Henry

    Groves under sentence of Condemnation for Felony who had

    formerly had the Favour of a Reprieve from his Excellency

    Collo Blakiston had now remained with him four years with

    very good Behaviour being dead in Law might be Restored

    by her Majestys Gracious Pardon upon the said Mr Nobb's

    Character of the said Henry Groves he is thought a fit Object

    of her Majestys Royal mercy Ordered that a Pardon be

    prepared in order to restore the said Groves as prayed

   

              By the principall Comrs for Prizes Lib. H. D.

      By Virtue of the power & Authority to us granted her p. 283

    Maty Comcon undr the Great Seale of England bearing

    Date the 16th Day of November last Wee do constitute &

    appoint you Mr James and Mr Hercules Cutts & You are

    hereby constituted & appointed her Matys Agents for Prizes

    at Pensilvania and Maryland with full power Warrt and

    Authority to you & either of you to do and performe All &

    all manner of things to the said Office of Agent belonging

    or appertayning according to Such directions as you shall

    from tyme to tyme receive from Us or any three of Us.

    Given undr Our hands & the Seales of Our Office this 7th Day

    of June 1703. In the Second year of her Matys Raign
