      Lib. X.   upon oath & to require the advice of any of the Practitioners

                of the Law not reteined for the Delinquents

                  Ordered that Mr Robt Gouldsborrough be Continued of

                his Majestys Council at Law

                  Major William Dent appearing at the Board his Excellency

                is pleased to tell him what is ordered on his Behalf for which

                he returns his humble thanks

                  The honble Iames Frisby Esqr one of the members of this

                Board being much indisposed has leave to go to his Lodging

                  Then came the honble Thomas Tench Esqr & was added

                to the Board

                  Then read the petition of Robert Smith Esqr his Majestys

                Surveyor General of this province praying that the respective

                Surveyors of the several Counties Commissionated by the

                Govr may return fair platts of their Surveys to be Examined

                by him & may also Give him accot of the profitts of their

                respective Offices

                  The aforesaid Petition is referred to his Majestys Council

                at Law to make Report what is Legal & fit to be done therein

                  Whereas Mr Samuel Watkins of Putuxent hath of late so

                disengeniously behaved himself Ordered that he be dismissed

       p. 166   from acting as naval Officer of Putuxent And that a Commis

                sion be drawn appointing Geo Plater Esqr Naval Officer there

                  Mr Thomas Merywether who lately carried his Excellency

                the Govrs Letters to his Excellency Sr Edmd Andros Knt his

                Majestys Lieut & Govr General of Virginia appearing is asked

                to give Accot of the delivery thereof which he doth upon oath

                as followeth vizt

                  That being designed for Virginia he rec'd a Letter for his

                Excellency Sr Edmund Andros Governor of Virginia from

                his Excellency Francis Nicholson Esqr Governor of Maryld

                which said Letter he delivered to the Governor of Virginia

                After he had been there some time he asked him if he had

                any Service & as he understood him his answer was no he
