                   100 Proceedings of the Council of Maryland, 1700.

             

              Lib. x.   Benefit of the Inhabitants of this Province & that all persons

                   may have due Notice of the sitting of the said As

                   sembly I hereby straightly charge the said Sheriff to

                   proclaim & publish this my Proclamation Given at the Town

              p. 259    & Port of Annapolis under my hand & the Great Seal of this

                   his Majestys Province this 9th day of January in the 11th year

                   of his Majestys Reign &Ca Annoq Dni 1699/700

                       By his Excy the Capt. Genl &Ca

             

                               A Proclamation

             

                    Whereas the right honble the Lords Commsrs of Trade &

                   Foreign Plantations have advised that Captain Henry Mun

                   day Master of the Ship Iohn Hopewell of London who

                   formerly used this trade being upon the coast of Guinea in

                   November last was plundered by a Pirate named Henry King

                   who formerly used the Pensylvania Trade nine of the said

                   Captain Mundays men at that time forsaking him & running

                   away with the said Pyrate & forasmuch as the said Henry

                   King with all or most of his wicked Companions & par.

                   ticularly the said nine men so run away from the said Captain

                   Munday vizt Nich Gillebrand John Burton Leonard Rawlins

                   Edwd Atterbury Emanuel a Portuguese John Sanders William

                   Parker of Sunderland John Harris of London & Francis

                   Brown a Negro may happen to come into these American

                   parts I have thought fit & do by & with the advise & Con

                   sent of his Majestys honble Council of State here by this my

                   Proclamation in his Majestys name strictly Charge & Com

                   mand all & every his Majestys Officers both civil & military

                   & others his good Subjects within this his Province that in

                   case they shall be informed or discover either the said Henry

                   King or any of his Accomplices & particularly any of the

              p. zo6    said nine men So Run away from the said Captain Mun

                   day to come within this Province that they use all Diligent

                   & Possible care & means immediately to seize & Appre

                   hend all or any of them & safely deliver them into the

                   custody of the Sheriff of that County where they shall happen

                   to be so apprehended & that all Persons whatsoever may

                   have due notice thereof I Command the several Sheriffs of

                   this Provs to make publick this my Proclamation &Ca

                   Given at the Town & Port of Annapolis this 27th day of

                   June in the 12th Year of his Majestys Reign &Ca Annoq
