Thereupon Resolved Nemine Contradicente that a Bill be
drawne for that purpose and that the Honoble Mr Speaker for
Talbott County Mr Thomas Waughop for St Marys Citty
Majr John Lowe for St Marys County Majr Thomas Smith for
Kent County Capt Richard Hill Mr James Saunders for Ann
Arrundell County Majr Walter Smith for Calvert County
Capt Phillip Hoskins for Charles County Mr John Hall for
Baltemore County Colll John Thompson for Cecill County
Mr Thomas Greenfield for Prince Georges County Mr Thomas
Ennalls for Dorchester Coty and Mr John Bosman for Som-
mersett County be and are hereby appointed to Joyne with
such Committee with some Gent of the honoble Councill to
assess and apportion the Publick Leavy who likewise in the
said Bill are to have full power to raize and Assess for de-
fraying the Publicks further charge other somes of tobo not
Exceeding 6000[0] lbs tob
And thereupon it is orderd that such bill be prepared
Which bill being prepared was read in the house the first
and Second time and doe pass
The Same was sent up to his Excy and Councill by Mr
Tilghman and Mr Leech
They returne and say they delivered the bill
The honoble Robert Smith Esqre and Francis Jenkins Esq
enter the house and brought with the bill for Apporconing the
Publick Leavy this present yeare 1700 Thus endorsed
This bill will pass with amendmt leaveing out the Clause
relateing to the Banke togeather with the follg message

The Bill for Empowering a Comittee &c was read at the
Board and will pass upon leaving out the clause touching
Money and disposing it for this Board hold it not at all advise-
able to leave the publick banke quite empty especially till such
time as the face of Affaires are better settled, the leavy at this
time being soe very easy

Which being here read it is Resolved the Same clause be
left out as required and that a new Bill be presently prepared
by the Committee of Laws
The Honoble Robert Smith and Francis Jenkins Esqre brought
with them the following Ordinances vizt
Ordinances for laying out the Choptanck Indians Land
endorsed
