turned to the next Sessions of Assembly to the end that such
bounds may by Act of Assembly be ascertained to the said In-
dians and their Successrs for Evere and that if the said Indians
before next Sessions of Assembly shall returne and inhabitt
upon the said land quietly and peaceably as formerly then all
Plantacons within there bounds shalbe left and abandoned to
them
And all Sherriffs and other Officers are hereby commanded
to be aiding and assisting to the said Majr Smallwood and his
Associates
To all other things contained in the said Message this house
doth assent.

Ordinance relateing to a gratuity to his Excy the Govr being
prepared was read as follows

By the house of Dellegates
May 9 1700

Whereas it was proposed by the committee of Accots that
Since his Excy hath been favourably pleased to disband dis-
charge and take of sum of the Rangers from the Garrison or
forte, the charge of which would have mounted to by Modest
Computation 500 pounds Sterlg & for other Speciall Services
as in lessening many former charges being very Sencible his
Excy hath not since the last Assembly subjected as to any un-

necessary charge and comeing into this Province in a time of
very great Scarscity was put to a very great difficulty and Yett
never reflected on the Province
The said Committee did therefore make this proposall that
a gratuity of Two hundred pounds Sterling be given to his
Majty for the use of his Excy at laying the Leavy if the house
please to concurr therewith
To which this house readily concurred

Then was read the Ordinance relateing to the Choptanck
Indians as followeth vizt

By the house of Dellegates
May 9th 1700

Whereas the bounds of the land formerly granted unto
Ababsco hardswamp and Pilkwaton the Choptanck Indians
