By his Excy the Govr and Councill in Assembly
May 4th 1700

The Peticon of Wm Bladen haveing been here read and
considered this Board findeing that the Petr has been at great
charge and trouble in procureing the Press, Letters, Papers,
Ink and Printer Etc wee doe recomend the same to the house
for their consideration and encouragement and that for Pro-
motion thereof an Ordinance pass that after the 10th day of
September next noe other writts be made use of but such as
shalbe printed (Save only Speciall Writts wherein are varyous
recitalls) and All Bayle bonds, Letters Testamenry, Letters of
Admistracon Citacons summonses &ca be printed and none
other made use of they being allways to be had vizt

pence or two pounds of tobbo p peece

Which being read is ordered to be thus endorsed vizt

By the House of Dellegates May 6th 1700

Assented to and orderd accordingly provided the Petr give
sufficient Caution to his Excy not to printe any other matter
or thing but what Shalbe first lycensed by his Excy the Govr
or some other p'son that shalbe by him appointed

The Honoble Colll Jno Addison, Esqre Brookes, Colll Ham-
mond, James Frisby and Francis Jenkins Esqr enter the house
and bring with them the bill for Religion &ca and delivers to
the honoble Speaker the following message.

By his Excy the Govr and Councill
in Assembly May 6th 1700

The Bill for the Service of Allmighty God and Establish-
ment of the Xtian Religion according to the Church of Eng-
land has been here twice read and is very well approved of
& it is further recomended to the consideration whether it may
not be proper to address his Most Sacred Majy to give his
Royall Assent thereto as now proposed
