Die Mercurij The house mett and were Called over

Present as in the Morning
Colll Hance Hanson a Member for Cecill County appeard
and tooke his place
Read the message prepared last night
And Orderd that Mr James Smallwood and Mr Thoms En-
nalls doe carry the same to his Excy and Councill
They returne and say they have delivered their message.
Proposed by a member of this house whether the Act for
Speedy Tryall of Criminalls might be thought necessary to
be continued or repealed
Whereupon Orderd the said Act be read in the house
Which being read
It is Resolved that the same be referred to the Committee
of Laws to be revised and Amended
And ordered to be drawn up in a Bill to be presented to
this house tomorrow morneing
The former proposall was considered whether it might not
be beneficial to the Inhabitants of this Province to pay their
Leavys in money
Which was referred till tomorrow morning for further con-
sideration
The Comittees all gone out
The Honoble James ffrisby Esqr and ffrancis Jenkins Esq
enters the house and delivers to the Speaker the following
message

By his Excy the Govr & Councill
Aprill 30th 1700

According to the houses request Coll Addison Coll Courts
and Colll Hammond are Appointed by this Board to Joyne in
Conference with the Gent of the house of Dellegates at Mr
Freemans about 2 of the Clock in the afternoon
Signed p Ordr Wm Bladen Clk of Councill

The Peticon of Gerrard Sly for Allowance of his Accot due
from the Publick being read is further referred.
The Peticon of Jerrard Sly wherein he prays releife of sev-
erall agreviances is Read and referred till tomorrow morning
The Peticon of John Chapman being alsoe read He is
referred to ye Common Law for releife
The Peticon of Charles Ascomb and Joseph Edwards com-
plaineing of severall agrievances being read, it is referred to
the Committee of agrieviances to enquire into the prmises
and make reporte thereof to this house
