The honble Edwd Loyd & Wm Holland Esqrs from the
Councill enter the house, & bring with them her Majestyes

Lre, touching New Yorke Quota coppy Land Law, and the
honble the Lords comr for trade and plantaons Lre to the Gov-
ernr and Councill
The honble John Hammond Esqre from the Councill enters
the house and brings with him
Bill for sale of Captn Smiths Lands for Payment of Debts
which was read the first tyme, and itt appeareing to the house,
tht the heirs were summoned, therefore resolved itt doe pass
Petition of John Whittington prayeing a bill for sale of
Daniel Toas Land for paymt of a debt to him read, and
Resolved that leaue is given to bring in a bill, and tht Sum-
mons with coppy of the Petn issue to John Toas to appeare
next assembly, to show cause why a bill shall not pass for Sale
of the Lands for payment of Debts as prayed
The petition of John Freeman for an allowance of his trouble
in goeing to Pensilvania, and the loss of his horse read and
referred to the committee of accounts for a Suitable allowance
for his trouble and loss sent up to the comittee
Her Majestyes Lre of the 21st May 1703 touching New
Yorke Quota read
Resolved that this house have already complyed with her
Majestys comands to the utmost of theire ability by raising of
three hundred pounds Ster to be pd when the other Collony's
shall comply with theirs, and wee are informed by our agent
that it is not Expected of us till our Neighbours comply like-
wise.
The two acts of assembly one ascertaining the bounds of
Lands and the other for Limitting tyme for paymt of obli-
gations transmitted this house with the Lord Baltemrs obser-
vaons thereon wch being read the house, conceiue it to be mat-
ter of great weight & moment therefore
Resolved it be referred till next assembly

By the house of Delegates
Aprill 29th 1704

The message to his Excy by the honble James Saunders
& Wm Coursey Esqrs being read, as likewise the Rt honble Wm
Blathwaite Esqr his comn of Auditor grall, It is conceiued by
the house tht the sd office does noe wayes concerne the publick
of this Province, & doubt not but when his Majesty granted
the sd Comn he annexed a Suitable Sallary to itt, and tht the
Publick is not to support such office, & as to her Majestyes
Lre touching the Quota of New Yorke, this Province has
