Wee haue read and deliberately considered of what your
Excellency was pleased to say to us att the opening of this
sessions, and wee are well Satisfied, th^t you haue long and
faithfully serued the Crowne, like a true English gent, & th^t
giues us the full Assurance th^t you will continue to doe soe,
in being a good and Just Governeur to us, and th^t Every man
of honesty & good moralls will find itt

Wee haue taken care to haue the Laws touching Religion
and for discourageing immorality and Prophaness Examined,
and as soone as itt can be considered, wee'll humbly offer our
thoughts thereon, And the same Methods wee shall obserue
about the Militia.
Wee shall be ready to consider those Laws her Sacred
Majesty would haue amended or enacted, whereof your Ex-
cellency is pleased to say Wee shall haue a Scheme, Wee'll
propose & advise to the best of our understanding, being
assured that our princely Queen has noething more firmely
in her princely Thoughts than the Happiness of her King-
domes and Dominions, and therefore with Cheerfull and Glad
harts, wee haue by the bill herewith transmitted recognized
her Majesty our most Gracious Soveraigne, prayeing to God
long to continue and prosper her Raigne, over us, and as to
what concerns yo^r Excellency wee hope, the bill herewith sent
to waite upon the former will giue yo^r Ex^cy full assurance that
wee haue as great a vallue for you, as for any of yo^r prede-
cessors, which wee haue passed with one voice, and Desire
yo^r Excellency to accept, as a token of our hearty Thanks.
As to the building a house for her Majestyes Governeur,
wee shall direct measures to bee taken for proceeding therein
and must pray time to consider of itt, that itt may be soe
ordered, as to answer the End its done for.

And here wee pray leaue to acquaint your Ex^cy that the
Commodores resolution of soe suddaine a departure putts
ships upon a hurry of goeing, and that necessaryly requires
most to be att home to settle theire affaires with them &
therefore wee desire to know whether yo^r Excellency would
haue us to proceed, to all these weighty matters mentioned
to us, or whether wee shall discharge, the most necessary &
Emergent of them now, and referr the Rest to amore con-
venient tyme.
Wee cannott tell what to advise as to the Indians, till the
former Treaties with them, are laid before us, and therefore
pray to haue coppyes of them
