Sr
Wee are fully satisfied in the assurance you are pleased to
giue us of your just and generous Administraon, and alsoe
of yor resolution to protect us, in our lawfull rights and im-
munities and hope you shall alwayes find us an honest and
sincere people, and wee pray God bless your Excy, and all
yours among us, and make your Governement long and
happy over us.

Which being read and approved of, its ordered the same
be signed and sent up to his Excellency.
Ordered tht the late Governour Blakistons letter be read in
the house, and here Entred as followes

Gent
I haue the Vanity to belieue itt will bee needless for me to
tell you how great a regard I haue for the honble Councill, and
the generall Assembly of the Province of Maryland, and the
inhabitants thereof, the Proofs I haue recd of theire respects
are many, and I hope since I came from thence you haue not
just reason to say you haue made any discovery to the con-
trary but that all my actions were honble, tho' perhaps some
Malicious persons may have taken some paines to defame
me, but I may justly defy the most ill natured, and will onely
appeale to your selues

Gent This you'l receiue by the hands of my old friend
& worthy Acquaintance Coll John Seymour, whome her maj-
esty has been pleased to devolve the Governement upon, in
my Roome, and I that haue soe great a Veneration for you,
and yor ease and Governement, doe assure you, if itt had
been att my owne Election, I could not haue wished you a
person of more strict honour and justice, and the best nat-
urall Disposition you would hope for, The foure years I
had the happiness to be amongst you I am not conscious
to my selfe, there was two of the whole Councill and As-
sembly Dissatisfied att my weak Endeavours in my admaon
in the Governement, and am very well assured you will in
this gent receiue the same blessing, and what ever Marks
of favour you will shew him he will truely meritt itt
Att my comeing away, you were pleased to confirme me
in your good opinion of appointing me your Agent, and I
