348 Assembly Proceedings, April 26-May 3, 1704.

By the house of Delegates
May the Ist 1704.

Upon consideraon of the Commodores saileing the first of
this moneth, and the assurance that not aboue one third part
of the fleett cann Saile with him soe soone, and tht two frigotts
more are dayly Expected, Wee most humbly move yor Excy
and the honble her Majestyes Councill to represent the same
on behalfe of the Province, and pray the honble Captn Evans
Commodore of this Fleett to consider the prmisses, & take
such measures as may be most proper for her Majestyes
Service and security of the prsent Fleett by staying some
Tyme longer till the Fleett may be ready to saile, and the
other Frigotts arrive

Your Message by Major Greenberry about the Comodores
Sayling being read His Excy assures us that he has used his
uttmost Efforts with the Comodore both by speaking and
Writing to him but that he had Assured him it was not in his
power without Express Ordrs from England for his longer stay.

honourable William Blathwait Esquires Pattent of Auditor
generall was read and considered by this board, & wee wth
