Came Sr Thomas Laurence Bart & acqainted his Excy that
he had been at the conference but that they had before Gone
over the Subject Matter of the conference therefore Desir'd
leave to bring some Records to Shew the Secretarys Right to
those Lycenses before the bill passes, Which is given him.

Mr Salter from the house to acquaint his Excellency that the

house Desire a Conference about the Stile of the Laws to

which his Excy is pleas'd to Assent & Ordered that Mr Tench
Mr Brooke & Mr Smith Ioyn imediately with the Members
appointed by the house upon that Subject.
Mr John Freemans Petition read & recomended to the house
of Delegates for satisfaction to be made for going to phila-
delphia.
Sent by Col Hamond.

The Rt Honble the Lords of Trade & plantations Letter of

the twenty first of March 1703 with the Copy of his late Matys

Order for the Quota from this Province to be Supply'd to New
York read at the Board and Ordered to be laid before the
house of Delegates for their Resolution thereon.
Read also their said Lordsps Letter of the twelfth of Aprill
1703 with the Copys of two Acts of Assembly of this Province
to witt one for Ascertaining the Bounds of Land & one other
for limitting the time of Obligations within this Province to-
gether with the Lord Baltemores Observations upon the said
two Laws their Lordsps requiring due Reguard to be had to
the Lord Baltemores Rights.
The above Lres Order & Laws with the Remarqs thereon
sent to the house by Colonell Lloyd & Col Holland
Majr Greenberry and Mr Lynes bring from the house the bill
for the three pence p hhd for Defraying the country charge &
the houses Answer to the above Letters.

By the house of Delegates Aprill 29th 1704

The message to his Excy by the honble James Saunders
& Wm Coursey Esqrs being read, as likewise the Rt honble
Wm Blathwaite Esqr his Comn of Auditor grail, It is conceiued
by the house that the sd office does noe wayes concerne the
publick of this province, & doubt not but when his Majesty
granted the said Comn he annexed a Suitable Sallary to itt,
and that the Publick is not to support such office, & as to her
Majestyes Lre touching the Quota of New Yorke, this Prov-
ince has already complyed, with her late Majestyes commands
[sic] to the uttmost of theire ability by raiseing of three hun-
dred pounds Ster, when the other Collonyes should comply
