By the Governor & Councill in Assembly
May [April] the 28th 1704.
Gent
The honble William Blathwaite Esquire his Pattent for being
Auditor General of her Majestyes American Plantaons &
collonyes being laid before this Board, and herewith sent you,
whereby you may perceiue, what reasonable allowance for that
service his Majesty has thought fitt to make him, out of and
from the Revenue of each respective Plantaon and Collony
then under his Royall Governement, the Governement of this
Province being then in Proprietors hands, was the reason that
noe such provision was made for him here, Butt itt being con-
ceived tht the sd Auditor generall may be of great Friendship
and service to this Province The accounts of whatever is
raised or leavyed here, whither money or Tob, being to be
layed and passed before the Lord high Threasurer of England,
Wee hope that you will thinke fitteing to provide some suit-
able gratuity by a reasonable yearly allowance to be made
unto him for such his service, as you will see other plantations
and Collonyes, are directed by his Pattent, the Publick accounts
of this Province being now under his care, by the Governmt
being taken into his Matys more immediate princely care &

A Bill for selling Cap' Henry Smiths Land for paymt of
Debts was Read & sent to the house by Mr Sanders & Mr
Coursey.
The Councill adjourns untill Eight of the Clock to morrow
Morning.
Saturday April 29th 1704.
The Councill Sate present as Yesterday
Saving Mr Smith & Colll Holland who were Order'd last
Night on the Conference.
Came Sr Thomas Laurence & pray'd to be heard to the
Bill for regulating Ordinarys before the same be passd & is
Directed to apply to the Gentn appointed upon the Conference
Came Mr Wm Coursey appointed by this Board by her
most Sacred Matys Royall Instruccons & took & Subscribd
the Oaths & Test Required &c.
Came Mr Smith & Lt Col Holland from the conference to
Report that the conferree's from the house had agreed to the
Amendments in the Bill proposed for Regulating Ordinarys.
