good & dutiful Loyal Subjects and his just and worthy deserts,
according to your Excellency's desire we contrived the As-
sembly to meet the 26th Instt in Expectation of Col Seymours
Arrival and her Majesty's Royal Commands, but Col Seymour
not being arrived nor any such come to Hand we shall only
proceed to compute and defray the publick Charge which will
be very little this year
Our President has assured this Board that he never wrote
to the Rt Honble the Lords of the Council of Trade & foreign
Plantations, but only acquainted your Excellency with what he
had been informed ab' the Revenue of the Governmt with
which he has never meddled further than the Moiety according
to your Excellency's Settlement when here, and that he has
wrote to Satisfy your Excellency therein
Sr We cannot overlook your peculiar regard for this Prov-
ince in the Station you have been pleased, to Act for our In-
terest as well in your Sollicitations for the royal Assent to our
Act for the Establishmt of Religion (which we have received)
as also for your watchful Diligence to withstand such assaults
as have been made for the repealing and abrogating our Land
Law which we hope will yet be thought very reasonable & not
at all prejudicial to the Lord Baltimore And of this and all
other matters wherein you are pleased to Serve the Country
as their Agent We Hope not only Our Selves but the whole
Province will have a most grateful Sense and make you just
& honourable Satisfaction as proposed and concerted in As
sembly

Mr John Freeman his Petition read praying Allowance for
divers Expresses he had been sent upon for the publick Ser-
vice. This Board being Sensible of his readiness on these Oc-
casions to serve the Country do recommend to the House of
Delegates that he be Considered for his Service in going down
to & over Potowmack to fetch the Pacquetts in the first part
of the Petition mentioned but as to the latter part of the Pe-
tition reject the same for that he was not Employed by this
Province

The Board adjourned till 8 of the Clock to Morrow morning
