Gentlemen.
Mr Richd Beard the Person employed & Entrusted to look
after the publick Magazine at Annapolis being lately dead
The same is now in the Custody of Matthew Beard his son
upon which occasion you are desired to appoint some of your
Members to join with some of this Board to view the said
Magazine and appoint either the said Matthew Beard or some
other fitting Person to look after it

Came Mr Lynes & Mr Parker from the House with Mr
Vanderheyden who in their Presence made Oath to his Naval
Officers Accounts as likewise did Wm Bladen to those oi his
Collection in the Naval Office at Annapolis
Resolved that this Board will write to his Excellency Col
Blakiston. Whereupon having given Instructions to the
Clerk to prepare the said Letter
They adjourned for half an hour and being again met Pre-
sent as before the following Letter was read and presented to
them which they approved of & severally Signed. Viz.

We have the favour of your Excellency's most kind Letter
of the Tenth of February last wherein you are pleased to con-
tinue to us the assurance of your Friendship and particular
Regard for this Province for which we give you our most
humble and hearty Thanks assuring you that We shall be
always ready to demonstrate our hearty Good Wills & Re-
gards for your Excellency wherein we may be able
As to what your Excellcy intimates in yours concerning Mr
Joseph Holt late Rector of William and Mary Parish in St
Marys County, Due regard was immediately upon receipt of
your Letter had thereto and the said Holt suspended as he
now stands until application by him be made as by your
Letter directed
Sr We are not a little happy even in the expectation of so
worthy a Gentleman (to help to make up our Loss in your Ex-
cellency) as you are pleased to denote his Excellency Col John
Seymour your successour of whom we are very ready to be-
lieve your Excellency's Character very just and hope he will
meet such treatmt in this Province as may befit her Majesty's
