Post Merediem, The house mett againe and being called
over, Were present as in the morning.
Representacon of the Honble: Sr Thomas Lawrence Bar-
rontt his Matys Secretary of this province relateing to Ordinary
keepers and for preventing contests, being read and in the
house Debated. It is
Resolved That Sir: Thos Laurence for determining contests
that may arise be referred to the Laws in such cases allready
provided.
Read the peticon of the Inhabitants of Prince Georges
County wch follo in these Words.
To the Honoble the house of Delegates.
The ffreeholders and Inhabitants of Prince Georges County
humbly Supplicate.
That whereas within the said County there is a Bridge over
the Westerne branch of Patuxent River which is decayed and
not passable wth Safety and the main roade for all the inhabi-
tants of St Mary's County, Charles County, and the greater
parte of Prince Georges County in their passage to and from
the Assembly and Provinciall Court lyeing over the Same
and also that the County of Prince Georges being but newly
made a County and not many taxables and a Poore County
and unable to rebuild the sd Bridge humbly pray that there
may be a Bridge built over the said branch in such place as
the Justices for the said County shall thinke fitt at the cost
and charge of the publick.
And your peticoners as in duty bound shall ever pray &c.
Which being here read and debated, Voted whether the
Bridge shall be built at the chg of the publick or not. Carryed
in the Affirmative.
Bill for Releife of Kent and Calvert Countys, and the Bill
for Confirmeing Manns Testamt sent to be engrossed.
Bill against Horse racing on Saturdays, Read the Ist and
2nd time & doe pass.
Kenelm Cheseldyn Esqr, Mr Wm Hutchinson, Mr Richd
Tilghman, Mr Jno Salter Majr Henry Dorsey and Mr Edward
Lowe Mr Hugh Eccleston, Mr Wm Harris, Mr Samll Young,
Majr Walter Smith, and Majr James Smallwood sent up to his
Excy and Councill wth the follg Bills.
Bill for Religious Worship &c: —
Bill against Horse Raceing on Saturdays.
They Returne and Say they delivered the Bills.
Bill prohibiting the abuses comitted by Woods Rangers
brought into the house by the Comittee of Laws. Read the
first time and ordered to be read againe to morrow morning.
