W Bladen Navll Officr of the Port of Annapolis swears to
his acct of Country Dutys
Mr Mason swears to his acct as Treasurer of the Western
Shoare Col. Thompson & Capt Hoskins being present from
the house of Delegates.

Journal.

Came Mr Elisha Hall & Lt Colonel Whittington who bring
the Petitionary Bill for confirming the Glebe Land to Christ
Church in Calvert County read the first tyme & amended by
the House of Delegates.
Which was again here read and the Amendent thereupon
proposed by the House agreed to.
And sent back to the House (together with Mr Lynes Pe-
tition) by James Frisby & Robert Smith Esqr
Moved at the Board that in reguard Mr William Dent his
Matys Attry Generall has been very ready and Serviceable to
his Maty in that imployment for which he has no Sallary settled
upon him, neither as yet has had any Reward therefore.
Proposed that the Fine of twenty pounds Sterl imposed by
the Provinciall Court on Mr Gabriel Parrott be assigned &
paid to the said Mr Dent.
Whereupon this Board being sufficiently sencible of Mr
Dents readiness and Service in that Station upon all Occa-
sions, and that by his Officiating therein he hath concluded
himselfe from receiving many proffitable and Valuable Fees
which he might have received had he not been in that Station.
Ordered therefore that the sd Fine of twenty pds Sterl be
assigned and paid to the said Mr Willm Dent towards the
Recompense of his Services.
The honble Colonel Jenkins complayns agt Mr Saml Worth-
ington one of the Attorneys of Somersett County Court of his
ill behaviour in his Station his Prodigality and insolent affronts
offered to the said Colonel Jenkins.
Major Walter Smith and Mr Thos Hicks bring from the
House to his Exncy as followeth viz.

Your Letter sent by Colonel John Addison and Thos Brooke
Esqr Relating to Tobo Hhds we received Wherein Wee observed
your Excy Sencible of some disadvantage by the great Weight
of them so that you have not the full Benifitt of your Revenue
arising upon hhds of Tob: and yet that your Exncy is pleased to
have them weigh 500: It were very difficult how to proporcon
paymt according to the particular Weight of every hhd and
wee believe by good Computation that hhds not exceeding the
lawful Gage (considring further that more are under the Gage)
will not one with another conteyne 500 lb wt Tobo And for pre-
