The Council are of Opinion that the sd Capt Coode and the
Vessell under his Comand may be very Serviceable to his
Maty in this Province in detecting fowle Traders here; but since
that she is so small a Vessel & of no force having only four
small Gunns she can be of noe defence to the Coast, which at
prsent seems to be pretty well guarded by the late Arrivall of
his Matys Shipp the Shoram, a Shipp of good force and Count-
enance, neither is she so fitt to goe out of the Capes now hav-
ing only two months Provisions on board and being so very
small that she will be scarce able to get in againe And if that
she should be only made use of to lye at Point Comforte the
Worm biting more there than in this Province, shee would be
mightily endangered if not utterly destroyed thereby; However
if any materiall Occasion should happen wherein she may be
Usefull, there advise his Exncy upon Notice to give such neces-
sary Orders as he shall thinke fitt it being Considred that her
Number of men may perhaps be usefull, Otherwise that she goe
up to Turkey Point to avoyd the Worme.
Ordered that a Copy hereof be transmitted to his Exncy the
Govr of Virginia.
This Board adjourn'd untill Monday morning at Eight of the
Clock.
