Journal.

They Returne and say they delivered the same.
Bill incourageing the importing Coyne &c: read and amended
and ordered to be read to morrow morning.
The house adjournes till two a Clock in the afternoone.

Post Merediem. The house mett againe and present as in
the morning.
The Gent: appoynted to purchase a servt man for James
Baker comes into the house and say there is none to be had
in the towne being all removed.
Therefore forasmuch as a Servant is not to be purchased
according to an order this day for James Baker.
It is therefore ordered by the house now that three thousand
pounds of tobacco be allowed this levy and that it be allotted
to be lodged in the hands of Major John Lowe of St Mary's
Coty to purchase a good able man Servant to be delivered to
the sayd James Baker and the said Majr Lowe is by the house
desired to doe the same.
Bill for more Speedy obtaining Exec. &c. read the first time
and ordered to be read tomorrow morning.
The peticon of Jacob Regnier read and referred for further
consideracon.
Proposed tht whether it be not absolutely necessary that
there be a convenient place made or provided to Lodge the
publick powder in.
Resolved that such a place be provided and built convenient
for that purpose.
And ordered that Mr Beard be desired to repayre to the house
to treate with him about building a house to lodge the powder
in as before resolved.
Mr Beard enters the house who is desired to attend Mr John
Salter Mr Samll Young and Mr John Dorsey to treat with him
as well of the Dementions of such house as the estimate of
Charge the Country wilbe at in building the said house, And
they are desired to report the same to the house by all Ex-
pediticon.
The house desires Mr Speaker to send for a Reame of paper
for the use of this Assembly which will be Satisfyed by the
publick.
The paper was brought into the house and Comitted to the
charge of the Clerke.
George Plater Esqr Navall officer for Patuxent District ap-
peared according to sumons and laid before this house his
publick accts Ordered that he take his accounts and make oath
to them before his Excy the Govr and then deliver them to the
honble Speaker.
