Proposed whether it be not reasonable that an humble ad-
dress be made to his Excy that some parte or porcon of the 3d
p hhd for armes be applyed towards the cleansing fixing and
prserving the publick armes now in the Countrey.
Resolved that an address for that purpose be drawne and
that Mr Kenelm Cheseldyne Majr Wm Dent and Collo Wm
Whittington Draw the address for that purpose.
Who returne and deliver the same to the Speaker and is
as followeth viz.

By this our humble address wee represent to yor Excy That
we find by our Journalls and other proceedings that out of the
12d p hhd by the law of this province settled on his Majty for
support of the Governt &c: his Maty: has been graciously
pleased to direct 3d thereof towards supplying the province
with armes, amunition and other implements of warrwch by the
blessing of God and your Excys good Conduct and Care has
supplyed us with a Sufficient quantity in number tho' many
defficient in quallity and we hope money in Banke upon the
same fund.
2. That these rumors of warr at it prompts all others soe
us to put our Selves in the best posture of defence wee are
able by cleaning and makeing fitt for Service those armes and
implements of warr that we have many of them in the severall
Countyes being unserviceable and out of kelter;
From these premises we pray yor Excy to condesend and give
ordrs that soe much money out of that fund as upon reasonable
computacon shalbe judged necessary may be applyed to fitt and
make Serviceable those armes and implements of ware in the
sevl Counties as may compleat the same and that some fitting
psons in the severall Countys may be empowered to receive
the sd money and see the worke pformed. And returne an
acct thereof to your Excy &c: wch wee humbly hope and con-
ceive is consonant to his Matys gratious intention and will be
favourably received and granted by yor Excy

Thos Ennalls Capt. Jno ffrancklyn Mr Phill: Loyd Collo Jno
Tompson, Mr Jno Hall, Collo Wm Holland. Mr Elisha Hall,
and Majr Wm Dent, Mr Thos Greenfield and Collo Henry Lowe
Carry the same to his Excy in Councill.
