May 8th 1701

To the Honble the house of Dellegates
The humble petn of Dorothy Stevens relict of John Stevens
late of Dorchester County Decd
Sheweth That your petr in the yeare 1695 prchased from
Simon Willmore of Kent County Gent, to her her heires
and assignes for ever a certaine tract of land called
Willmores Range Lyeing in Talbott County on the South
side of Chester River and upon a branch called Vni-
corne branch qty 1000 acres more or less as pr his
Lordps Grant thereof may appeare and did make paymt of
the purchase money and the said Simon Willmore and his
Wife Rebecca by Jno Valliant her attory came into Talbott
County Court and did there give their consents that the Deed
of feoffment should be then Enrolled on the Records of Tal-
bott County Court. But it hapened that by the negligence
of the clarke or otherwise the sd deed is not recorded nor the
deed it selfe to be found and the sd Symon Willmore being
dead and his heir within age yor petr is deprived of comon
remedy Except she be aided by an Act of Assembly firmly to
invest the sd Land in your petr her heirs and assignes upon
reasonable proofe of her allegacon which She hopes the
honble house will Grant Especially seeing the relict of the
said Willmore and all persons Interested or concerned desire
the Same and yor peter as in duty bound shall Humbly pray &c:
Which being read and understood Ordd that the petr have
her remedy by passing of it into a Law Confirmeing the title
to the said Land in the peto menconed.
Proposed by a member of this house whether it be not
reasonable a Law be made that a transcript of a Judgt of any
Coty Court transmitted to another County under the Seale
may be Sufficient to Grant Execution agt psons remooved
agt whom such originall Iudgmt is obtained. And whether
it be not necessary that a Law be made for paymt of rents
for Orphans Lands in their minority by the persons in whose
hands the Same is.
And proposed that forasmuch as this province at this time
have good Supply of Armes that a Law be made for cleans-
ing preserving and keeping them in good repaire
2ly That a Law be made for Itinerant Iudges within this
province &c:
3ly And for advancet of money for paymt of Leavys here-
tofore in the house of Dellegates mooved.
All which said proposalls are referred to further considera-
con till Monday morning.
