that for Religion being amongst the rest when they Come back
to us, whatsoever has been alledged either by yorselfe or the
Councill of Maryland in their Letter to us upon that Subject
Shall be duly Considered in the mean while upon Occasion of

Acts lying either with the Attorney or Sollr Generall you will
do well to take notice that it will be for the Service of the
Province that an Agent be Constituted with Authority and In-
struction from thence to Solicite the dispatch of that and all
other Publick business wherein the Province is Concerned the
Charge need not be great it is a thing done by most of the
Plantations and Proves very usefull to them
Upon reading of which it Came into Debate whether all the
Laws desired to be in force should not be reenacted singly
one by one as the best means to Obviate the Misfortune that
may happen by his Matys Pleasure in disassenting to any one
Act Enumerated in the repealing and Confirming Laws, made
last Assembly
In Answer to which it was the Opinion of the house that
by his Matys Order in Councill of the 30th of November 1699
none but the Laws Enumerated & particularly mentioned in
the Act Ascertaining the Laws of this Province were thereby
Repealed, however they desired to have Copys of the sd
Paragraphs of their Lps Lres and leave to consider them in
their house which being given them they took leave and
repaired to the House.

Ordered that Notice be given to the Justices of the Sev-
eral County Courts, That every June Court they take New
Bonds of the respective Sherriffs According to Act of Assem-
bly and Imediately transmitt them to the Secrys Office
The Board adjourned till 8 of the Clock on Monday morning

Munday May the 12th 1701.

The Councill in Assembly Sate Present as on Saturday
Saving Thomas Tench Esqr
George Plater & George Muschamp Esqrs his Matys Re-
ceivers within this Province being Sent for.
His Excellency is Pleased to inquire into what Security
those Gentn have given for the due Execution of their Offices
and finding tht Mr Robert Mason & Mr Philip Clark who
were Mr Muschamps Securitys are both Dead his Excellency
is pleased to require other new Security.
Mr Plater & Mr Muschamp Ordered to lodge a Copy of
their Accounts of the 3d p hhd for Arms in the Clk of the
Councills Office Yearly that that revenue may Appear.
