Capt William Hutchison & Mr Robert Bradley Came from
the house with the houses Answer as to the Conference Pro-
posed viz.

By the House of Delegates May the 9th 1701

In Answer to the Message this morning by Thoms Tench,
Thomas Brooke, James Frisby and John Hammond Esqr
Wherein his Excellency is desirous of a Conference with the
Speaker & some Competent Number of this house. It is
resolved That the Speaker & whole house Attend his Excel-
lency and Councill on the Conference when and where his
Excellency shall please to Appoint.

Ordered that Mr James Frisby & Mr Robert Smith Cary the
Answer of this Board to the House vizt

By his Excy the Governor & Councill in Assembly

May the 9th 1701.

His Excellency and this Board will be ready to receive the
House upon the Conferrence Proposed by Eight of the Clock
to morrow morning

The Councill in Assembly Sate Present as Yesterday
Came Major Dorsey & Mr Parker from the House and
present Major Thomas Hamond returned a Delegate for Bal-

temore County who took the Oaths appointed by Act of Par-
liament & Subscribed the Test & Association
Came Mr Speaker with the members of the House to At-
tend his Excellency & Councill upon the Conference Yester-
day proposed
Whereupon his Excellency Orders the following Paragraphs
in the Lords Commission : of Trade & Plantations Lre to his
Excy of the 4th of January 1699/700 to be read viz
What has been done by the Generall Assembly is not
Agreeable with his Matys Intentions and Especialy it is most
irregular that soe many Laws of different kinds should all be
Enacted together by one Single Act which is that Intituled an
Act Ascerteining the Laws of this Province by which means it
