An Addiconall Act touching Coopers and the Gauge of
tobbo hogsheads.

Whereas An Act was made at a Sessions of Assembly
begunn and held at the Citty of St Maryes the Thirty first
day of Septr in the Sixth Yeare of the reigne of our Sov-
ereigne Lord and Lady King William and Queen Mary Anno
Dmi 1694 Entituled an Act touching Coopers and the Gauge
of tobbo hogsheads in which said Act are severall Penaltys
laid on Coopers for their neglect and non performeance of
the Severall Clauses in the said Act to them relateing and
whereas it plainely appeares that the planter or employer is
the Principall Transgressor of the said Act by causeing the
Cooper with whom he agrees to make the said Hogsheads of
a larger size then is by the said Act provided and directed
Be it therefore Enacted by the Kings most Ext Majty by
and with the advice and consent of this prsent Genll Assem-
bly and the Authority of the same that any pson whatsoever
that shall hereafter agree with or employ any Cooper or other
person to make tobbo hogsheads and shall suffer or cause the
same to be made of a larger size then by the said Act is
directed shall for every Casque or hogshead soe made fforfeit
and pay the sume of Two hundred pounds of tobbo and after
the same rate for a greater or lesser quantity the one halfe
thereof to be paid to our Sovereigne Lord the King and the
other halfe to the informer or him or them that will sue for
the same to be recovered by Action of Debt bill Plainte or
Information in any of his Majts Courts of record within this
Province wherein noe Essoyne Protexion or Wager of Law
to be Allowed
And be it further Enacted by the Authority Aforesaid
That this Law be given in charge by the Iustices of Every
respective County in this province to the Grand Jury by them
to be enquired of This Act to be and remaine in full force till
the Act herein mentioned be repealed or otherwise made
void.

Church in Calvert County by the Last Will & Testament of
Capt Richd Ladd of that County deceased.

An Act for quieting differences that may arrize between his
Majts Subjects of this Province & the Severall Nations of
Indians of what places soever.

Whereas many differences have and may hereafter Arrize
