The Priming to be of Meal Powder to be mixt with any strong Spirits, Vizt of wine or Rume &ca ffusees to fire with a blast, can give no other description of them save that they are broad at the top and holes bored a cross for the quick Match, the quick match being drawn through the holes must hang down on each side the shell to take the fire from the blast of the Peice.

Marriage Whitehall the 8th day of March 1693/4 under his Lycense &c: Royall hand and Signet to impower me ffrancis
Nicholson Esq Capt Genll & Governr in Chief in & over this his Province and Territory of Maryland in America to grant Lycense for Marriage in this his sd Province, I do hereby in his Mats Name Empowr the Chief of the Vestry in Each parish within this Province (till further Ordr) to grant the sd Lycense for Marriage.taking Security and ffees of all prsons to whom such Lycense shall be Granted Vizt Twenty Shillings Sterl. or a hdd: of Tob. according to former Usage or as heretofore hath been usually done and taken by fformer persons Empowrd to grant the Same & tht no other prson whatsoever prsume to Grant any Marriage Lycense or Marry prsons whatsoer Contrary to Law upon pain of being prosecuted according to the Utmost Severity of the Law: Requiring the persons hereby Authoriz'd to bring or send an Accot unto me of the sd Lycenses & profits thereof Annually and for the trouble of Sending and granting the Same, a Suitable Reward shall be allowed them, And I do hereby Ordr that the Vestrys of the Severall Parishes doe annually transmit unto me at the Port of Annapolis, a transcript of their proceedings pursuant to the Directions of a certain Act of Assembly of this Province in that Case made & Provided Comanding the Sherriffs to make Proclamation hereof in all Churches Chappells and other places of publick meeting within their respective County's, whereunto all prsons concern'd are to yield due obe dience & Conform themselves accordingly. Given at the Port of Annapolis under the Broad Seal of the Province this 25th day of March in the ninth year of his Mats Reign &ca Annoq Domi 1697. God Save the King ffr: Nicholson
