72 Proceedings of the Council of Maryland, 1696 / 7-98.
Lib. H. D. detain'd by Mr John Thompson together with the Boat, Sailes, Ancker & Cable &ca the 6th day of this instant March 1696/7 for which your Peticonrs humbly Submit themselves to your Exncy for Redres. The Peticonrs humbly Pray that the above Goods, and boat &ca may be appraised & they admitted to give security to stand Tryall and answer the Appraised Vallue if Condemned, but that the Goods upon giving such Security may be Restored to them by the Officer.
By his Exncy the Governr & Councill &ca March the 16th 1696/7 Ordered that the within Goodes, Boat &ca be restored to the Peticonrs they giving Security according as is prayed.
By his Exncy the Governr & Councill &ca March the 18th 1696/7. Mr Plater to Ordered that George Plater Esq Collr & Re deliver the Bills of Exa to Majr Dorsey ceiver of his Mats Customs of Petuxant District
do upon Sight hereof, Deliver unto Majr Edward Dorsey or Ordr Coll: Birds bills of Exchange sent
by his Exncy Sr Edmund Andros amounting to 200 & odd pounds being part of the 300 pound by the sd Sr Edmund Refunded to this Governmt 200 whereof was by an Ordinance of Assembly assigned towards the Building the ffree Schole for which sd Vse the sd Majr Dorsey is hereby authorized to Receive the Same; and as to the other bills Sent by the sd Sr Edmund and now Remaining in the sd Mr Platers hands; Ordered that he remit them for England to be lodged in Mr Perrys hands for the Vses by a former Ordr directed; and as for the odd money that is over and above the 200 ll he is to give directions to Mr Perry to keep it.
