Ordr abt Coll: Whereas in the year 1695: the Assembly had Thomas to pay the Chan- Omitted to Assess or appoint what Tobo should celors Tobo be allowed to the honrble Coll: Henry Jowles Chan cellor for writing and Sealing the Laws of three Assemblys wch notwithstanding he put in for the Same in the publick Leavy of Baltimore County that year, which was accordingly allowed him by the Commrs of that County Court as also for Seal to two County Commissions there, but being by an Order from this Board Dated the day of Stopt till further Order Recd: And fforasmuch as the sd Coll: Jowles hath now upon his application set forth how th the Assembly have since setled what he should take for the sd Laws Viz 1480: pounds of Tobo for Each body and that the seal for the two sd Commissions is not yet Satisfied; Ordered therefore that Coll John Thomas former Sheriff do upon Sight hereof Satisfye & pay out of the publick Tobo of the sd County lodged th year in his hands what legally can be claimed by the sd Coll: Jowles; notwithstanding any former Ordr from this Board to the Contrary.
Somerset Read a Paper of Greivances Reprsented from County Grievances the Grand Jury of Somerset County Court, And recomended to for Answer his Exncy say's that he is very sorry the Assembly. that they lye undr so many Grievances & is very much troubled, that he cannot at present Remedy them, but tht God willing will Recommend them to the Assembly when they sit and would have them give these Greivances in Charge to their Burgesses that Acts or Ordinances of Assembly may p. 475 be passed to Redress thm Ordered that the Same be sent to the Sherriff of the said County to be made publick.
A Schedule of what Goods was brought in our Boat, Vizt in a boat Goods Seized One Cagg of Rum containing 9: glls 1: half by Majr barrel of Beer 1: Ditto half out or thereabouts 2 Thompson & Runletts Ditto, of 2 galls each 1: pt & 1/2 of Ordr thereon. . Spirits 1: pt & 1/2 of Sugar'd Rum 1: pt bottle of Rum & Sirup mixt 13: pr of Gloves 1: ffishing lyne 1: knife & forke 3: small peices of Lead i: Barrell of Bisket 1: pot and pothooks 1: fowling Peice and Amunicon 1: Small Glass bottle—2 Chests and a Small box 1: large Cake of Ginger bread 10 Dollars 5: Cask of Sugr containing upwards of 800: weight. All which abovesd Goods were Seized and still
