Some weekes agoe a party of New England men with Eight morekans (Indians that inhabite on the Sea Shore) found between Hatfeild and the mill a Christian kill'd Scalpt and his Shirt and coat cutt up his stockins & shoes taken away, when the News of this Came to the Village a party of Christians with the sd morekans went out to seek after the murderer and pursuid a Tract so ffarr till they had lost it and their provisions being alsoe spent were forced to Return the same day. The day following the same party taking more provisions went forth and found the tracts again which brought them to the ffoot of the high bergh where they spyed Severall tracts but all divided whereupon the sd party dispersed them
