       The following Letter to his Excellency Sr Edmund Andros

      Knight his Majestys Governor of Virginia read & approved

      Of vizt

                 Annapolis the 6th of Septr 1698

      Sir

       I Received your Excellencys Letter by Joseph Man of the p.

      13th of July last wherein your Excellency does offer that you

      will endeavour to support this his Majstys Government & pre

      vent all Combinations against it

       I have by the Bearer hereof Mr Thomas Merrywether in-

      closed sent your Excellency a Transcript of a Bill of Indict

      ment against Mr. John Cood now found by the Grand lury

      have also sent you Copys of the Representations of his Maj

      estys Justices of the Provincial Court & the Grand Iury relat

      ing to the said Mr Cood & the late troubles & Comotions by

      him raised & set on foot within this Province upon which

      Occasion I am obliged with the advice of his Majstys honble

      Council within this Province to press your Excellency once

      more that you will take such Effectual Care that the said Cood

      may be very speedily apprehended and delivered up to Iustice

      here for the prevention of further disturbance & for securing

      the peace of this his Majestys Province therefore desire your

      Excellency that he may when apprehended be delivered to the

      hands of Collr John Courts one of his Majestys honble Coun

      cil within this Province residing in Charles County upon

      Potomack River or otherwise upon notice given Care will be

      taken to send for him in doing whereof your Excellency will

      do great Service to his Majesty & this Country I am
