Collo Mitchell having told his Excellency that one of his men had sold a sword Ordered that enquiry be made after the arms the men had to the Fort at Potomack Them Came Mr Samuel Watkins naval Officer of Putuxent & made oath to two lists of Shipping Ordered that as soon as Captain Tanner & Captain Emms are cleared that Mr Watkins & Mr Jennings send their Lists; no more being expected this year & that Mr Watkins swear to his lists before Captain Keech & send it by Emms or Tanner Ordered that the Clerk give notice of that the Court of Appeals & Writs of Error will sit on Tuesday next And that he write to the honble Collr John Addison & Thomas Brooke Esqr to come to the Council against that time Ordered that the late Sheriffs of Talbot & Somerset Countys take care to have the publick Tobacco ready against the next assembly to be paid as by the Assembly shall be directed Collo Thompsons & Mr Vanderhaydens &ca representation Journal of their proceedings with the Shevanore Susque hannah & Delaware Indians read and approved of & the said Indians present to his Exllcy the Governor Consisting of five p. 146 Deer Skins two Belts of Wampum 13 Racoons one Cat & one fisher being Valued by the Gentlemen to be worth about nine match Coats his Excellency is pleased to give them ten And Orders that Colonel John Thompson do acqt them that his Excellency had recd their present by him Sent & bath sent them ten match Coats which is to Shew that we are not at Enmity with them but that if the Said Indians have a desire to make a league of Friendship or Amity with us that he direct them to Come down to Annapolis the 26th day of 8ber next at which time the Assembly meets & that in the mean time they are Suffered to Come & go without any Molestation or disturbance Then read one other petition of Mr Gerrd Slyes of St Marys County which is as followeth To his Excellency Francis Nicholson Esqr Capt Genl & Governor in chief in & over this his Majestys province & Territory of Maryland
