Lib. x. being desired several times not to be so troublesom to his Excellency & the Board for the Great Presumption & idle Behaviour the Sheriff of Ann Arundell County is ordered to take into his Custody till he gives Security for his good Behaviour His Majestys Lawyers being present are put in mind & Charged to manage all Business wherein his Majestys is Con cerned with Care & Diligence Whereas Geo Plater Esqr his Majestys Receiver of the Dis trict of Puttuxent stopt Money in his own hands for eight p. 62 Barrels of Powder lent by the County to Captain Iohn Hurle Ordered that the said Geo Plater Esqr take Care to Send for the said Powder in small Quarter Barrels to Contain 26 l each Mr Plater being withdrawn his Excellency is pleased to Represent to the Board that the said Mr Plater is now Called upon to give an Accot of 622 l 06s 2d arising out of the three Pence given by his most Sacred Majesty for purchasing Arms & Ammunition for this Province & that the said Mr Plater offers to discount great Part thereof by Bills Drawn by Several Persons within this Province & not Particularly taken upon Accot of the Shipping And Requires the Opinion of the Board whether such Ought to be taken in discharge thereof Whereupon it is advised and Concluded that as to the Ballance of Mr Platers Accot £18.. 6.. 2 3/4 Mr Robt Smiths Protested Bill for Forty Pounds Mr Thomas Blakes Bill for Five Pounds Mr Iohn Pidgons for 33 l Major Walter Smiths for 30 l in all amounting to one hundred & Twenty Six pounds Six Shillings & two Pence three Farthings, the same ought not to be Allowed of, but that Esqr Plater Stand charged there with & remit so much to Mr Paggen or Mr Milner in order to persue the former order of Council for Arms to be sent in & that until the said Mr Plater Satisfy his Excellency the Govt that he has remitted so much for that end, that he send the Bills by him taken on this Accot to his Excellency who will take care duly to apply the Same to the end for which it is given, and that upon the said Mr Platers making up his Accot p. 63 his Excellency will give him a receipt which Will be his Dis charge therefore Ordered that Geo Muschamp Esqr Receiver of the Dis tricts of Potomack and Pocomoke remit to his Excllcy the Governor the Quarter part of the Revenue given to purchase Arms to Captain Paggen or Mr Isaac Milner to be Disposed according to his Excellencys directions to the Said Mr Milner. George Plater Esqr maketh Oath to a Dockett of Actions on Navigation Bonds Read over to Esqr Frisby what was done in the late Coun cils which he Approves of
