Naked Indians who desire to be in Amity with this Government Lib. X. and that the said King of the Susquehannahs will not go his Journey without the leave of this Govt That the Indians on Susquehannah River have constant trade p. 60 with Persons in Philadelphia & New Castle Whereupon advised & agreed that inasmuch as this Board do not find that the said Indians live wth in this Government that a Letter be writ to his Excellency the Govr of New York to acquaint him of the Application made to this Government by the said Indians on Susquehannah River & that we Not knowing but those Indians thô they call themselves Susque- hannahs are Indians belonging to the Seneques & if Care be not taken therein this Government may perhaps be a Re ceptacle for them That we are not willing to have any Corespondence with them without the Answer of that Govt And as to the Application of the King of the Susquehannahs for leave to go to the Naked Indians Ordered that a Letter be writ to Lieut Coll° Iohn Thomson to acquaint him this Gov ernment will not meddle therewith, but that he may tell the said Indians that whilst they behave themselves well & peacably they may freely go & come without Disturbance & if the said Indians have any thing else to Propose to his Excell ency they will do well to Come down to him Advised & agreed that a Letter be writ to his Sr Edmd Andros to desire him to forbid all the Masters of Ships in this Government to take on Board or Carry away Mr Iohn Cood Senr Mr Philip Clark Mr Robt Mason & Mr Gerrard Sly but that he will take Effectual Care to have them apprehended if in his Government that thereby they may be brought to P 61 Answer According to Law & if his Excellency does not send them over; this Government will send for them upon Notice given This Board Considering that whereas there is fourty Odd Thousand Pounds of Tobacco in the hands of Major William Whittington late high Sheriff of Somerset County being pub- lick Tobacco undisposed of & whereas Tobacco now bears a good Round price, do advise & agree that the same be sold & that Major Whittington have Notice to have it in Readiness. A Certain Gentleman Commonly called Alexander Lumley Esqr Appearing at the Board & Preferring a Petition by the Name of Alexander Lumley, his Excellency is pleased to advise him not to go by that Name but the said Mr Lumley behaving himself very Contemptuously asking his Excellency if he was his God Father, & being in drink, his Excellency is pleased to Order his Majestys Lawyers to prosecute the said Mr Lumley for Assuming such name upon him, & the said Mr Lumley
