422 Proceedings of the Council of Maryland, 1696/7-98.
Lib. x. also shall render Unto his Said Majesty and other his Officers a true pfect & faithfull acctt of all and Singular his Majestys dues & to his Officers a lust and true Acctt of theire fees that he shall or may be Intrusted with by his Matys Govr & other his Officers within this Province aforesd to Receive & Collect & his account to his said Majesty his heires and Successors or to his or theire Govr here for the time being for the fines forfeitures & other Dues belonging to his sd Matys Governt as also his acctts of all fees dues or Sums of Money or Tobb: for Leavys or fees due to any of his Matys Officers and other good people within this Province shall Pass and Acctt for by the tenth day of Aprill next ensuing the Date hereof And in p. 189 all things as Sherriffe of the said County of St Marys shall behave himselfe well and honestly towards all psons according to the best of his Power Skill and knowledge then this Obligacon to be Voyd and of none effect or else to stand in full force strength & Virtue Signed Sealed & Delivered Henry Low In the prsence of Henry Iowles Thomas Laurence William barton Thomas Tench Richard Hill
Cockpitt february the 23th 1697/98 Honrd Sr By direction of the Lords Commissioners of the Councill of Trade I send along with this Packett of theires a Ream of Paper ruled in the forme which theire Lordships Conceive proper for the Uses intimated to you by theire Letter of the 2d September Last and which they desire may be made use of accordingly (but Especially for the Iournalls of all publick proceedings) and when this is done that other paper ruled to the same forme be provided and made use of in the same maner I am Honoured Sir To Coll Nicholson Your most faithfull humble Servt Wm Popple
p. 187 fforasmuch as by his Majty in Councill the 13th day of ffebry 1695: It was Ordered tht the Keeper of his Majtys great Seale of the Province of Maryland, should have & receive one halfe of the usual fees setled by act of Assembly there, for sealing all Grants & Pattents of Land; Nothwithstanding I do hereby testify & declare tht I have not at any time recd any part or parcell of such fees for Sealing the Pattents of Land as aforesd though often demanded the same, but have been aliwais and am still denyed by the Lord Baltimores Agents
