Ordr abt Mr Came Coll: Henry Darnall and delivered up Platers Search & inquiry for vpon Oath Severall Navigation Bonds and Cer Bonds&Certif. tificates, Certifying that they were all which he at Mr Josephs &cacould find or knows off unless by Chance some might be left in the mean time of the Revolution at Mattapany now in Mr Josephs Charge, Ordered that Mr Plater make inquiry and Search for all such papers there. ffebruary the 18th 1696. Ordr for Mr Ordered that George Plater Esq Collr and Plater to send to the Receiver of his Mats Customs within Petuxant respective District doe by the ffirst oportunity of Conveyance Governmts abt Lists of sent to the Severall Governmts belonging to his Ships & Maty in these American parts to which Tobacco is Vessells trading there, or hath been usually Shiped desiring that the respective Governrs of the sd Plantacons would please to Couse an Authentic List to be made and attested under the Seal of each respective Governmt of what Ships or Vessells have Come to any of those parts from this Governmt (having respect to the Dates of the Sever all Navigacon Bonds now in his Custody) together with an Accot of the quantities of Tobo there imported and put on Shore and that the sd Lists so taken and attested may be sent in with all possible Speed it being Adjudged by this Board a matter much importing his Mats Service in distinguishing what Ships have transgressed his Mats Laws and who have not, without which the people of this Province concern'd in the Navigacon Bonds are likely to be great Sufferers. Ordr to the Ordered that the Severall Collectors and Navall Severall Collrs &Officers within the Province and their Deputies
Navali Officers do make out ffour particular Lists of all Ships by to make ffour particular them Enter'd & C!eard from the time of the ffirst Lists of all Arrivall of the late Governr Copley by them to be Ships & Vesseils &ca brought up to the Assembly in March, if they then Sit, otherwise to bring them up to the Port of Annapolis on the 15th day of Aprill next in Order to make Oath to the Same hereby Ordering that all fformer Officers that are now out of place be acquainted by the present Officers for them to make Like Lists and bring what Bonds, Certifi cates and other papers (belonging to their respective Offices) remains now in their Custody in Order to be Surrendered up upon Oath.
