      That in all the said seizures &ca never anything was Lib. H. D.

    brought to condemnation, whereby your Petitioner might be

    satisfyed for his pains, charge & trouble bestowed in and

    about the same, except last Provinciall Court, where some

    Goods imported from Pensilvania, by Mr Ashman, lob Evans

    & others (to the value of near 30 lb wch they conditionally pur

    chased by an Order from this Honoble Board, in case of Con

    demnation) were condemned accordingly and become for

    feited to his Majesty therefore yor Petitioner humbly prayes

    he may be allowed out of the same, for all his pains, Charge

    & trouble aforesaid bestowed; So much as in your Exncy and

    Honors wisdome shall seem meet (the Acts of Assembly upon

    wch the sd goods were tryed & condemned having not pro

    vided any thing for the informer) and your Petitioner as in

    duty bound shall ever pray &ca The said Petition was by

    Order indorsed as follows Vizt

   

   

      By his Exncy the Governr & Councill Decembr 3d 1697.

   

      Ordered that the Petitioner draw up an account what charge

    he has been at in & about the within mentioned matters and

    tht George Plater Esq his Majesties Receiver of Patuxent

    district do allow him the same accordingly out of the within

    mentioned forfieture.

   

   

         [Commissioners of Customs to Nicholson.]

    Sr

      Application is made to us Concerneing the discharge of

    Bond said to be given in Maryland in the year 1693 by Peter

    Bird M of the Ship William and Elizabeth with Condition to

    Carry her Ladeing from thence to some Port of England or

    Wales or to the Town of Berwick upon Tweed, and It

    Appearing by the Inclosed Certificate under the hand and

    Seal of the Collr inwards in this Port that on the 8th day of

    August 1693 The said Mr did then & there enter the said

    Vessell of the particular goods following (Vizt) one hundred

    & 2 hhds with a Small pcell of Bulk Tobbacco and two

    hundred weight of Sasafrax besides five hundred pounds of

    Bulk Tobbo delivered att Kingsale in Ireland where as is

    Said the Mr was in Want of Provisions We desire yu will

    please to Affix the Said Certificate to the Aforesd Bond in

    discharge thereof Unless you have any thing farther to Object

    we are Sr              Yor Very humble Servts
