By his Exncy the Governr & Council, Decemr 3d 1697. It is considered tht the within mentioned cause be for the reasons within mentioned continued till another Court, and tht the Peticonrs need not attend here the first Tuesday of JanTY according to adjournment yet notwithstanding do think it convenient that the said Court be then held and is Ordered accordingly. A Petition of Samll Scott of Pensilvania, concerning some Goods of his being seiz'd upon his Exncys Proclamation relating to Pensilvania trade was read. And it being signifyed that Iudgment is not yett passed in the case; therefore could give no Order therein till then. Read a Petition of John Dalling late Mate to Capt Curtis, setting forth that being grievously afflicted with a timpany, and that whereas no Doctor will undertake to looke after him, notwithstanding he hath proffered good security for their pay; therefore humbly prayes some Doctor may be assign'd to tend him & to endeavour the Recovery of his health &ca Where upon Ordered tht Doctor Arnold or some other skillfull person undertake to look after the Petitioner & administer things proper; for wch if the Petitioner is not able to satisfy; satisfac tion will be made by his Exncy
Read the following Petition. Vizt To his EXnCY ffrans Nicholson Esqr Capt Genrll & Governr Ifl Chief in & Over his Majtes Province and Territory of Maryland &c and to his Majtes honoble Councill The Humble Petition of Henry Denton Navall officer of the Port of Annapolis. Sheweth. That yor Petitioner (by virtue of his said Office) hath seized and brought to tryall severall Sloopes, Shallops &ca wth their lading for breach of divers Statutes, Acts of Assembly & Ordinances of this his Majtes Province; about wch he hath been put to great trouble & charge in the execution of his Duty, by securing the said Vessells taking Accot of the Goods seized and in Carting divers goods & Rigging up to yor Petitioners house, for better preservation of the same; his Majesty having no warehouse in this Port. As also did by Order pay four Dollers to a couple of Persons that brought Mathew Clemisons Sloop over the Bay, as by Receipt for the same hereunto annext may appear.
