   charge & Cofliand the severall Sheriffs of the Province to Lib. H. D.

   make Proclamation hereof in all Churches, Chappels & at all

   Musters, trainings & other publick places of meeting within

   their respective Counties, whereunto all persons concern'd are

   to yield due and ready obedience, as they and every of them

   will answer the contrary at their perill; Given at the Town &

   Port of Annapolis under the Broad Seale of the Province this

   3d day of December in the ninth year of the Reign of our

   Soveraign Lord King William the third &Ca Annoq Dom

   1697.                            ffr: Nicholson

                   God save the King.

  

     Ordered that notice be forthwith given by the Sherriffs to

   the field Officers of each respective County that they omitt not

   with all expedition possible to raise the severall men directed

   and Ordered to be raised in October last, and in getting the

   Publick Arms well fitted and fixt. No further business offer

   ing the Councill broke up for this time.

  

  

  

     At a Councill held at the Port of Annapolis the 3d day of

   Decern 1696. in the ninth year of his Majesties Reign.

            Sr Thorns Laurence Barontt Secry

            Collo Henry Iowles

            Thorns Tench Esq

   Produced and read the following Petition Vizt

     To his EXnCY ffrans Nicholson Esqr Capt Gen” The humble

   Petition of Robt Carvile Sam” Watkins & Phllp Clarke, Practi

   tioner's in the high Court of Chancery in the behalfe of them

   selves & Clyents most humbly Shew unto yor EXnCY That the

   Honoble Collo Iowles Keeper of the Great Seale of this Prov

   ince hath informed your Petitioners that he intends to appoint

   a Court the last of December wch is in the very dead of Winter,

   and that whereas there is no causes in tht Court ready for try-

   all or by the rules of the sd Court can be made ready for try-

   all, save one, in wch your Petitioner Robt Carvile is the reall

   Complainant. Your petr humbly supplicates yor Exncy that

   the Court of Chancery may not sitt till after the Provinciall

   Court, and as in duty bound shall pray.
