   Clark living by Susquehannah River did informe your Lib. H. D.

   Deponent that she saw the ifrench men that dwelt among the

   Seniquo's at John Han's house the same day a dealing with P 605

   him, and Mr Nicholls did informe your Deponent that those

   ifrench men were the same men that hope to Cutt off a great

   many People in New England and a Town, but the name I

   know not.

     Your Deponent being at Thomas Brownes house to buy

   some Rume of him, the said Brown & I saw one Richard

   Touchstone wch told me that Thomas Browne did the night

   that I was there hide him the said Nicholls from being known

   tht he was in his house, for the said Thomas Brown had about

   200 Gallons of Rume of the said Nicholls to sell for him, wch

   the sd Brown did sell for Mr Nicholls, & further I cannot say.

   His Exncys     Sr

   Letter to the

   Governr of     I have the favour of Your Exncys of Augt the

   New York. 30th & am heartily sorry that I cannot send your

   Exncy a Confirmation of the news concerning his MajtYs West

   Indian Squadron; and we have had no vessells either from

   Europe or the West Indies: So tis a very mellancholly time

   with us for want of good news from those places: but I hope

   in God that we shall have it shortly.

     What yor Exncy writes about Collo Gibsons resetling New

   foundland I hope is quite done long before this as also that

   he hath beaten the French quite out of that Countrey; wch I

   think will be a good stepp towards routing them out of

   Cannada: from whence I hope your EXnCY will meet wth

   disturbance this winter so that you may not be again forced

   to make a dismall winter Campaign at Albany: Which to

   hear of, will be verry acceptable to your Exncys most humble

   Servant

     Neare one of our Garrisons by the falls of Potomock, one

   of the Souldiers was killed by Indians, his head, & one of his

   arms carryed away; which, with what was a litle before done

   in Virginia, by Indians hath very much alarmd these parts,

   And I have raised more men to strengthen that Garrison and
